We are a small law firm with offices in Greenville and Morehead City with an established client base and reputation for high-quality legal services seeking a Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant. Located in Eastern North Carolina in the heart of the medical community, we represent physicians, hospital administrators, and other professionals in high income, high asset divorce. We also represent nurses and other hospital employees, the faculty and staff at East Carolina University, and small business owners in the community.

Job Description

The responsibilities include drafting legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, and discovery; conferring with clients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments and consultations; opening, closing and maintaining files; managing deadlines pursuant to the Rules of Civil Procedure; preparing trial notebooks containing list of exhibits and witness list, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research on West Law.

Applicants should be proficient in Word and Excel, highly organized, strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and have a professional appearance and voice. Applicants should be able to multi-task and meet pressing deadlines.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ paralegal experience
  • NC Certified Paralegal preferred, but not required
  • Family law or litigation experienced is a plus

Starting compensation depends on work experience and qualifications.
