Background & Education
Though she was born in Honolulu, HI while her father was stationed at Pearl Harbor with the Navy, her family soon moved back to Craven County, so Attorney Van Apeldoorn has always thought of New Bern, NC as home. During school, she knew she wanted to become a lawyer and got the opportunity to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and CSI in Washington D.C. After graduating from New Bern High School, Attorney Van Apeldoorn majored in Trust and Wealth Management Pre Law at Campbell University and graduated in 2018. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she stayed to attend Campbell Law School and was active in several organizations, including the Christian Legal Society, Women in Law, and the Re-Entry Project. During law school, she was an Honor Court Justice, interned at the Craven County District Attorney’s office for two summers, and also had an externship with Judge Flanagan at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. After graduating law school, she passed the bar exam and was accepted into the North Carolina State Bar in 2021. Upon completing law school, Attorney Van Apeldoorn returned home to Craven County and joined Irons & Irons P.A., excited for the opportunity to serve clients in her hometown. While she’s passionate about her work and dedicated to her clients, time away from work is spent with family and friends, attending Temple Church, and spending time outdoors on the Neuse and Trent River.Schedule a Consultation with Attorney Brianne Van Apeldoorn
